The Football Association has rejected appeals by Chelsea left back Ashley Cole and Aston Villa defender Zat Knight for wrongful dismissal in the 4-4 draw between the teams in the Premier League on Wednesday.
It was Chelsea's first defeat in 19 league outings and extended their bad run at Villa Park to nine matches without a win.
But title rivals Chelsea and Manchester United were held in Saturday's Premiership matches.
